Champlain Canal (Again)

Left Westport, NY Monday morning and did a four hour day to Ft Ticonderoga.  Didn't go into the fort this time...just anchored off it.

Tuesday it started raining and it continued all day.  We made it all the way to Schuylerville, NY (52 mi) and the Schuyler Yacht Basin.  Photo: Rain and T-storms everywhere

in the rain.

On the way we passed to men in a canoe in Lock 5.  They were canoeing to Manhattan!!  They looked pretty waterlogged.

DSC02701 We met up with them again in Schuylerville and went out to dinner with them to a great Mexican restaurant.  Ken and Doug are paddling their way down the Hudson commemorating the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's discovery of the river and valley.  They only make 10-15 miles a day and anticipate arriving in NYC around Sept 4th.   DSC02702
